Let’s learn a little more about me!

My name is Jenn and I am the owner and author of Teach Love Autism. I am a teacher with 12 years of experience in regular, alternative, and special education. During my time in the classroom, I have taught almost every grade from Pre-K to 12th grade in many different subject areas with many different groups of children. I fell in love with working with students with disabilities and most recently found myself teaching students with autism. My students inspire me every day and inspired me to start this website, blog, and store to help other teachers and make their classrooms a place where learning, independence, and overall growth are a priority.

Additionally, I have found that two things have really been the key to making my classroom work. One is organization and the other is building independence for my students. When I am able to combine these two factors in I find that students learn, staff are engage in educating students, and we all are progressing. Which I think is the overall goal in any classroom, right?

ABOUT ME OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM

When I am not involved with teaching, I am devoting the rest of my hours to my loving family. I have a wonderful husband and two daughters which love helping me create and prepare materials too! We love taking vacations together and having family movie nights almost weekly. I also have two dogs that are my fur babies and cuddling buddies. A good chunk of my life I also played and enjoy coaching softball which I have done at many different levels with different age groups. If you haven’t figured out that working with kids is something I love and am passionate about then I guess I will mention it one more time; I LOVE KIDS!
